USCC Objectives
The USCC (Baltimore) specifically contributes to
its objective of identifying, and ensuring access to, reports of
all randomized and controlled clinical trials by:
- Organizing
handsearches of the US general medical journals.
- Coordinating
the Master List of over 2600
journals being handsearched by the Collaboration.
- Supporting
the further development of a coalition of consumer advocates,
Consumers United for Evidence-based Healthcare (CUE) and
its mission to promote the health of populations and the
quality of individual health care providers and others
to make informed decisions based on the best current evidence
through research, education, and advocacy.
The USCC has two offices: the main office,
based at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland;
and a branch at University of California San Francisco.
The two Offices of the USCC share many
tasks, including:
- Supporting Cochrane entities with a coordinating
base serviced by the Center.
- Supporting new CRGs, Fields, and Methods Working
Groups who want to register with the Collaboration.
- Supporting individuals who seek information about
the Collaboration
