The
San Francisco Branch of the US Cochrane Center assumes unique
tasks on behalf of the Collaboration:
- Develops and evaluates mechanisms for incorporating
criticism of the Cochrane Reviews into the on-line database
of reviews.
- Compares the process and outcomes of this mechanism
of on-line peer review to standard peer review
- Evaluates adherence with the Cochrane Collaboration
protocol for conducting Cochrane Reviews
- Assesses the reproducibility of the Cochrane
Reviews
- Tracks the publication of Cochrane Reviews
submitted to medical / scientific journals
- Tracks the citation of Cochrane Reviews in
the medical / scientific literature, in the lay press, and
by policy makers
- Evaluates methods for refereeing protocols
submitted to the editorial teams of the Collaborative Review

before they are submitted to the Parent Database of Reviews
